PARAGLIDING COURSES IN ARIÈGE
- The elementary paragliding course is the first qualification recognized by the French hang gliding and paragliding association (FFVL), and will typically take four to five days, depending on the student and weather. You will learn to make pre-flight checks, take off, turn and fly down to a controlled and designated landing under radio instructions from your instructors. You will gain a sound understanding of the principles of paragliding, reinforced with theory.
- The progression Pack is made for young pilots who wish to fly as soon as they have the opportunity and conditions allow, while benefiting from the support of our instructors. You can purchase 5, 10 or 15 progression Flights.
- The Initial certificate pack : 5 days of elementary courses + a progression pack of 20 flights + passage of the two components of the initial pilot’s license exam: Theory and practice.

- In general, the courses start around 9 am on Mondays, depending on the weather conditions. The first days, dedicated to school and theory, the days generally last until 5 p.m. For the first autonomous flights, we work in the morning, when the conditions are calm and suitable for learning.
- We will systematically confirm to you the evening before between 7 and 9 p.m., by Text message, if the appointment is maintained. In the event of a weather cancellation we will set a new date together.

Progression Packs
You want to continue to progress at your own pace: progression packs are the ideal solution to achieve this.
You come to fly whenever you want from Wednesday to Sunday. Each flight is then deducted from your logbook.
The exercises in flight will be adapted to the level of each one: (pitch, Roll, accelerator, big ears, 360 ° Cadenced, Flight regimes, dynamic flights and thermal flights ...
Briefing, theoretical contributions in relation to the exercise, safety and educational instructions as well as debriefing after your flight.
During the week and at weekends, our team of instructors is present all year round to assist you in your progress.
If you need a school slope session, you can use your flight log (2 flights counted for a session of about 2:30)

Who's for ?
If you haven't done your elementary paragliding course with Kymaya and/or haven't flown for a year. You MUST spend a day on the school slope to validate the technical and theoretical prerequisites. 3 flights will be deducted from your book for the slope day.
The Initial certificate pack
The Initial certificate attests to the competence to fly unaided in calm conditions on a familiar site and with suitable equipment. It is validated by your instructor and attests to the acquired practical skills and knowledge of theory up to the green level of progression. It is certified by the school director.
A 5-day elementary course (Theory and Practice until the first major flights), followed by a progression pack of 20 Flights between April and October (Radio Guidance with 2 monitors) and Preparation and the exam of the initial certificat

Prepare for your theory exam
To validate the Theoretical part of the initial Pilot's Certificate, you must obtain a score of 15/20 when passing your exam. With our partner: Parapente360 (French) or BHPA (English) review your theory. Then practice with the MCQ Types, generated by the FFVL.
Flying exam
The practical exam is a demonstration flight that you will have to perform in front of your examiners in calm conditions without any assistance. The success criteria are: Take off and landing in complete safety as well as the successful completion of your flight plan and your approach to your reference site.
Discovery day
If you are curious about paragliding but not ready to take the Elementary course our 1 day introductory is a good option. The intro course covers everything you would learn on day one of the Elementary program.
In th morning we will cover equipment, launch techniques, pre-flight checks, ground handling and basic flying skills
In the afternoon you will fly with your instructor and pilot the tandem paraglider under his control (10 / 20 minutes)
At the end of the lesson if you would like to continue on with your training,
You can apply to a 4 or 5 days elementary course.

How are the lessons going?
Elementary pilot courses
5 consecutive days where very good results are observed. Being totally immersed in the activity is great.
This course lasts 5 days according to weather conditions and the Trainee’s level. Starting on a basic, well adapted slope to learn both theoretic and practical basics (equipment/material, take off, control, acceleration, landing, etc..) followed by full flights with radio contact (a fully qualified teachers at take-off and landing). This course will take place on a secure site under suitable conditions. You will be supervised by instructors who will guide you vigilantly by radio during all stages of your flight.
The progression Pack
With this pack you can fly and progress whenever you are available and weather conditions are suitable.

The Initial certificate pack
It begins with a 5-day initiation course which consists of 2 days on a school slope and 3 half-days of guided flights.
Following your internship, you will benefit from a logbook of 20 flights to reach the level required, both theoretical and practical, to pass your initial pilot’s license.
At the end of the course, we will take you through the initial theoretical and practical pilot’s license exam.
Discovery day
The morning will be devoted to the discovery of paragliding equipment and ground handling with the glider. Under the guidance of your instructor, you will better understand the piloting of the paraglider. Soon, with the paraglider above your head, you will be setting off on the school slope. (Session of about 2 hours and half)
In the afternoon, we fly: An educational tandem paragliding flight to allow you to pilot yourself and thus discover the basic maneuvers. (10 to 20 minutes flight depending on the areological conditions of the day).

Each structure of the ” French school of hang gliding and paragliding ” is committed with the French hang gliding and paragliding association (FFVL) to train you in accordance with a quality charter.
At the end of the internship, a quality survey will be sent to you by email. It will allow the school to know your feelings, and the teaching of our disciplines to make further progress.
