Club Pilot Course
What Is the Club Pilot Course?
The Club Pilot Course marks the end of your formal instruction at our paragliding school in France and qualifies you to leave the school environment to enjoy solo flying in BHPA & FFVL member clubs. Although you’re still a relative novice, this phase allows you to learn to paraglide in the Pyrenees more independently while honing your practical skills. Throughout this process, we strongly encourage continued guidance from our certified coaches as you work towards your full Pilot rating.
Course Structure & Progression
- 5-Day Elementary Course
Dive into theory and hands-on practice, culminating in your first major flights. You’ll cover essential equipment use, weather analysis specific to the Pyrenees, and fundamental safety procedures.
- Progression Pack of 20 Flights
Between May and October, consolidate your skills through 20 additional flights under radio guidance with two instructors. This step-by-step progression not only refines your takeoff and landing techniques but also builds confidence for independent soaring.
- Club Pilot Preparation & Exam
Once you’ve completed the flights, you’ll be primed to sit for the Club Pilot exam. Earning this BHPA & FFVL certification confirms your ability to fly safely and responsibly within registered clubs.
